Goosnargh & Whittingham sports & social Club  22nd - 27th March 2024

This site has a new, well drained, hard standing area, with 16amp EHU and sound proofed fencing, separating it from surrounding properties.
A final covering of Tarmac, with added areas of grass for those wishing to erect an awning, is scheduled for completion shortly.
We also enjoyed the benefit of a nice warm clubhouse and the function room for our flag. It was good to welcome new members to our group, Julie Dowd and Andy Hobbs. Friends visiting them brought cream cakes for everyone, which were much appreciated.
Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all at the Alston Arms Longridge, an excellent venue with good food. Thanks to the rally marshal's for a good opening rally to the 2024 season.

AGM Rally held at Dale Hey 1st - 8th November 2023
Not the best of weather on the rally this year but we were fortunate in having use of the toilets and showers which helped a lot. We also had use of the main hall for our opening flag and, of course, our social evening on the Saturday night following the AGM meeting.

Everyone joined in to provide a wide range of dishes varying from hotpot to sandwiches and cakes galore. Betty Bretherton turned up for the meeting and, although she had not been well enough to join the rally, she did manage to bake some cakes and apple pie which added to our choices on the social evening.

Our thanks to Christine Peach for organising the 'Jacobs Join' and all those attending in spite of the weather. We all made the most of every opportunity to enjoy ourselves.

Carrog Station Rally, Denbighshire 14th - 21st July 2023

A new location for us and what a gem it has proved to be! Beautifully situated in a valley with views to die for. The station, with steam trains at the weekend, just behind us and a couple of old carriages with loads of memorabilia, books, old models, etc. to browse or make donations for, which made them a bargain. We could take the diesel train to Llangollen or Corwen for shopping or sightseeing and some wonderful drives up to view points or to Lake Vyrnwy. Top this off with a pub just five minutes walk away and who wouldn't be suited? Booked for next year so get in early!

Newnes Rally 19th to 26th April 2023

Another new venue for us and first time marshal's had run a Freedom rally. Excellent job with raffle, bingo, quiz and a meal out organised at The Narrow boat nearby, attended by the majority. This went down very well and we were all entertained by Betty, who made the most of not having to drive. Lovely site with excellent facilities. So good Mike agreed to run it again next year. Site already booked for 2024. Site well located near Ellesmere with supermarkets, fish and chips and restaurants. Sampled the fish and chips which we could recommend. Lovely walks round the mere at Ellesmere, for the energetic, or ice creams on sale for the rest of us. Really enjoyed it.
